There have not been many books that have caught my eye, let alone held my attention, but The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is one of the best books I have ever read.
I first heard of the books when while flipping through one of countless gossip magazines when I came across a picture of Miley Cyrus with a caption that read since her boyfriend landed a role in the upcoming Hunger Games movie she has read the books. I generally hate all things that Miley has “acted” in, so I placed The Hunger Games into that category. Several months later my friend Stephenie mentioned to me that she had just read The Hunger Games and had loved it. We have almost identical tastes in literature, so I decided to talk to her about it. She told me that she had gone into the book thinking that it was going to be some horribly written chick lit, but instead she found a wonderfully written book with a captivating cast of characters.
